Prompt: Jensen--Computer Trouble
Given to irishjeeper (decided to write it myself)
Jensen squeaked as a bullet went winging by his head. “Hey! Delicate machinery here!” he yelled. He ducked, hunching over his laptop.
“Keep your head down, Jensen!” Pooch yelled back.
“Keep my head down?” Jensen questioned. “I’ll keep my head…” He yelped as a bullet dug into the ground next to his hand. “Hey!”
“Jensen!” half the team yelled.
“I’m fine!” Jensen yelled back.
“Then keep your damn head down!” Clay ordered.
Jensen grumbled, clearly perturbed at the orders he was getting from his teammates.
A moment later another shot cracked over his head, but this one took out one of the men firing at him. The blonde tech would have cheered but he was too busy trying to get himself farther into the small hole he had to protect himself and his computer.
A few more strategically placed shots and the firing from the other side petered off. Cautiously Jensen raised his head, looking around the clearing. “I think you got them all, Cougs.”
Slowly the rest of the Losers came out from under cover, shaking off the dirt from the cover and gunshots they’d all dodged. Jensen popped up from where he’d been hiding, clearly torn between running to where Cougar was climbing out of a near-by tree and checking his computer.
Finally he settled down on the ground as Cougar sat down next to him, opening the lid of the laptop and pushing the power button. He groaned as nothing happened. “No. No. No. No,” he moaned as nothing happened. “No, you can’t do this to me.”
“What is wrong, mi corazón?” Cougar asked.
Jensen clutched the laptop to him. “Leia’s gone. She’s broken and won’t boot up.”
Cougar looked confused for a moment, then his brown eyes cleared as they zeroed in on the computer in Jensen’s grasp. “You can fix it,” he assured the blonde. “Once we get home.”
