Avengers, any, autumn fun

Ariana giggled as she raced into the park, her feet kicking at the leaves on the ground. “Slow down, Button,” Clint called from behind her.

“Daddy!” she protested.

“We’ll still get there in plenty of time,” he assured her, picking up his pace and scooping her into his arms. He tossed her over his shoulder, waiting while she grabbed onto the loops on his vest. Once she was settled, he began walking again.

“I can walk, Daddy,” she protested.

“You keep running away from me,” he replied. He hitched her into a more comfortable position on his back and headed towards the section Natasha had directed him towards when they left this morning.

Ariana looked wide-eyed at the other children when they reached the section of the park that had been turned into a pumpkin patch. For a moment, Clint was concerned this had been a bad idea; she hadn’t had much exposure to other children. Then she wiggled in his grip until he was forced to set her down or drop her. “I can play with the other kids?” she asked.

“You can. But.” Clint waited until she looked at him. “I want you to stay where I can see you and you need to pick out a pumpkin. Okay?”

“Yes, Daddy.” Ariana turned to dart away, then turned back, throwing her arms around Clint’s waist and hugging him tightly.

Clint was very thankful for Ariana’s red hair as she flittered in and around the pumpkins, looking for something that he couldn’t quite place. At least her hair let him keep a close eye on her. Finally she waved a hand at him, calling him over. “What did you find, Button?” he asked when he got close enough.

She was standing next to a pumpkin that was almost as big as her, grinning from ear to ear. “Think Mommy can put everyone on this one?” she asked.

“Everyone who?” he asked as he tried to figure out how he was going to carry her and the pumpkin back to the Tower.

“All of our family,” she told him in a tone as if he was being silly.

“Yeah, she probably can,” Clint replied. “Let’s try to get it back to the Tower.”

Arrow, any/any, waking up slowly and lingering in bed
Oliver/Felicity

When Oliver had told her that he couldn’t be with anyone he truly cared about, she’d almost given up. But in reality she hadn’t, she’d just buried her feelings even deeper, even if she still had a tendency to blurt out things that could be taken the wrong way. Oliver never seemed to through or at least he never seemed to take offense at what she said, just laughing them off. And then hugging her and kissing her on the head like he did Thea.

Then what night something changed (and she still wasn’t sure what), but somehow (and she couldn’t even blame it on alcohol because neither of them had been drinking), but she and Oliver had ended up in bed together.

She had thought at first it would just be a one night stand, but Oliver began showing up at her apartment on the nights they weren’t in the Arrow Cave (and she didn’t care what the guys said, it was totally the perfect name for it), even staying the night when she’d let him. And it turned into mornings like this.

Mornings when she didn’t leap out of bed to rush around and get ready for work, but came awake in stages to the feeling of lock of her hair being wrapped around her finger. Mornings when she finally opened her eyes to find that she wasn’t alone, but had already wide-awake blue eyes staring at her. Mornings with another body tangled up with hers.

Oliver smiled when he saw she was awake. “It’s Saturday,” he commented.

Felicity smiled back, stretching against him, no longer shy about being naked in bed with him. “It is,” she replied.

He waited, but she had no other comment beyond that. “No hurry to rush me out of here?” he asked.

She shook her head, shivering slightly as he drew a calloused hand down her shoulder. “No. I think I like you right where you are.”

“That’s good because I like me right where I am, too.”

SPN: Wee!chesters, a day at a fun carnival, Dean wins a teddy bear for his baby brother Sammy

It wasn’t often that John Winchester was able to give his boys anything resembling normal childhood fun. The boys went to school, but they were so often the new kids that they rarely got invited to any parties or even to join in the games on the playground. So when Sam saw the carnival and asked to go, John couldn’t find it in him to say no.

For the first hour or so, John watching indulgently as the boys almost ran from ride to ride as they tried to see and do everything. Finally they slowed down as they reached the midway. Dean began to study the games carefully, clearly looking for a way to win.

Sam stopped at a Wild West Shoot-Out game, watching it avidly. After a minute, he seemed to decide he couldn’t win and wandered away. Dean looked between the game and where Sam had wandered off to before turning to his dad. “Can I stay here for a minute?” he asked.

John nodded after a second, motioning for Dean to stay put as he followed Sam. Dean turned back to the game once his father was out of earshot. He dug a grimy dollar bill out of his pocket, stepping up to the counter. “I want to play.”

“Yeah. Okay, kid.” The carnie eyed him suspiciously, but handed the Nerf gun. “You have to knock the balls out of the air. The more you knock down, the bigger the prize.”

Dean nodded, brow furrowed in concentration as he eyed the balls floating above the cowboy heads. Raising the gun, he carefully aimed and fired, easily knocking off the first two balls. The third one dipped just as he fired and he resisted biting out a word that he’d heard from his father on more than one occasion. He nailed the fourth one and set the gun down; face shuttered, but eyes glittering with pride.

“Where’d you learn to shoot like that, kid?” the carnie asked, even as he was reaching up to take a bear down from the rafters of the stand.

“My dad takes me… hunting,” Dean answered, accepting the bear. He tucked it under his arm and moved off, looking for Sam and John.

The two were watching someone hit the muscle man game when Dean wandered up behind them. Without speaking, Dean shoved the bear into Sam’s hands before shoving his own hands into his pocket. Sam’s eyes lit up at the sight, smiling at Dean. “Thank you,” he said, throwing his arms around his older brother.

“It’s just a stupid stuffed bear,” Dean mumbled, “but you’re welcome.”

Any, Any, Spring. Just... full-blown, moderate temperatures, sunlight and gentle breezes, budding tree branches and blooming flowers, absolutely *no* snow SPRING.
(I live in the midwestern US. Let me live vicariously. Please.)

Intelligence, Gabriel, Riley

Riley took a deep breath as she stepped onto the stairs that were attached to the private plane she and Gabriel had been stuck in for the past few hours. “I’m not sure which is worse. The hours in the plane or the six feet of snow we left behind,” she commented as Gabriel joined her.

“Definitely the six feet of snow,” Gabriel commented. His head tilted up in a position she’d come to associate with him checking the chip for something. “But I don’t think you need to worry about that for a while.”

“Please tell me there’s not another case,” Riley begged.

“Nope,” he confirmed, “but the weather report says sixty-five and sunny for the next three days.”

“Did you really just use the chip to check the weather?” she asked as they made their way down to the waiting car.

He grinned at her, clearly unrepentant. “How else am I going to know if I’ll get wet when I go running in the morning?”

“Since when do you go running in the morning?” she asked.

“Your fitness regime has inspired me,” he replied.

“So you’ll run with me in the morning?” she questioned. “See how it goes?”

“Sure,” he said, entirely too agreeable.

Riley eyed him, but decided it couldn’t hurt. It would make it easier to keep an eye on him. “I run at six am,” she reminded him.

“I know,” he said as the car pulled up by their apartments. “See you then.”

Riley stared after him as he moved easily up towards his apartment. He’d agreed to that entirely too easily and she wondered what she was in for the next morning.
