Author's Note: So. This is not quite finished, although the way things are going, it’s going to be finished pretty soon (and hopefully I didn’t just jinx myself), but I thought since you enjoyed the bit of wee! Will and wee!Clint, that I would begin posting the story. I’m going to break this up into chapters; probably through my breaks already in place. This takes place after both the Avenger and MI4 movies so there are spoilers for both through-out the story.

“I understand that you can’t let me into the building without permission,” the man at the desk was saying when Pepper exited the elevator. “I’m not asking you to do that. I’m asking you to call up and request that Clint Barton come down here to meet me.”

“I’m sorry, sir, but no one by that name works for Stark Industries. If you could give me an extension or a department, I can connect you with someone that could assist you,” the woman replied, standing her ground in the face of his frustration.

“And I already explained to you, he doesn’t work for SI, he…”

Pepper broke into the conversation, “Thank you, Cynthia, I’ll handle this.”

“Of course, Ms. Potts,” the receptionist murmured.

Crooking her finger at Clint, she indicated that he follow her. “Come with me. Now.” Figuring it was his best chance to get what he wanted, he followed without argument, watching as she swiped a card at an elevator and entered, waiting until he was inside. She punched a code into the panel before turning to him. “I appreciate you testing our security on a random basis, Clint, but you really should not berate poor Cynthia. I’ve finally found a receptionist that can deal with all of the craziness that goes on around here and I do not want to have to go through the screening process again. Or deal with having Colonel Fury attempt to sneak another SHIELD agent in undercover.”

“I think you might have me confused,” he started. “I’m not Clint.”

“You can drop the act,” Pepper responded. “You didn’t get past reception. This time.” She frowned. “And really? Attempting to walk in the front door? That’s not like you.”

“No, honestly, Ms. Potts. I am not Clint Barton,” he insisted. “I’m going to take my wallet out of my back pocket. Please don’t be alarmed, okay?” Slowly he withdrew a billfold from his back pocket, flipping it open. “My name is William Brandt. Clint’s my cousin.”

“JARVIS!” Pepper snapped, backing into the corner farthest away from him.

“Sir has been alerted,” the AI responded calmly. “He and Agents Barton and Romanov are waiting. ETA three minutes.”

Will spread his hands out from his sides. “I’m not going to hurt you. I simply wanted to surprise Clint. I honestly didn’t expect it to be this much of an issue.”

“Just. Stay over there. And… Just stay over there!”

Will backed up; taking back the step he’d taken. “I am not going to…” he started again as the door slid open.

“Pepper.” Tony held a hand out to the strawberry blonde as the two former SHIELD agents covered the opening of the doorway with their guns.

When they saw who it was in the elevator with Pepper, they both lowered their guns, sliding them back into their thigh holsters and stepping forward. Clint laughed almost gleefully as he enfolded Will in a hug, pounding him on the back. “JARVIS, you can cancel the threat alert,” he said as he stepped back to allow Natasha space for her own greeting. “He’s not a danger. At least not to us.”

Tony looked from Will to Clint and back to Will again. “Did someone figure out the secret of cloning and forget to tell the scientists?”

“Well, that’s a slightly different take on the twin joke,” Will commented.

Clint rolled his eyes. “We are not twins, doppelgängers, clones, or any other thing you can think of to describe doubles. We’re cousins.”

Tony reached out and poked first Clint and then Will. “Are you sure? I mean were you separated at birth?”

“Yes, Tony. I’m sure.” Clint turned to Will. “What are you doing here? You couldn’t call? You’re lucky I didn’t shoot you.”

“If you’d wanted to shoot me, you would have done it years ago,” Will responded. “And I can’t visit my favorite cousin?”

Clint shrugged. He really couldn’t argue with that logic. “Still would have been better if you’d called. Things have been a bit…hectic.”

“Yeah. I heard.” Will reached out and smacked him on the back of the head, prompting an indignant yelp from Clint and a slight smile from Natasha. “I have enough insanity in my life with my boss. I don’t need it from my family.”

“Fine. Fine. Whatever.” Clint rubbed the back of his head. “How long are you staying?”

“I’ve got a couple of days. Maybe we can actually be tourists this time,” Will commented as he followed Clint, who’d started walking away from the elevator.

Clint snorted. “Yeah cause that worked so well last time. We’re not drinking with Natasha though!”

Will groaned in remembrance. “Agreed. I think I still have a hangover!”

Tony looked at Pepper. “So. Clint has a cousin. This could be interesting.”

“No.” Pepper shook her head. “Whatever you’re thinking. No.”
