Author's Note: This was just a quick idea that I wanted to jot down…and then it kinda turned into a thing…so yes there will be another one…at least. Thanks to whogeek who helped me poke at this and also gave me someone to bounce my ideas off of as usual. :-) and <3 my girl.



No one was really sure how it had started or why. But when the ‘high fliers’ had dropped down to the ground at the end of the fight and stepped close, it had. Somehow the Avengers had ended up in a group hug.

This was a group that more often than not was still at each other’s throats; that still exemplified ‘lone wolves’ or ‘don’t play well with others’. Yet somehow, they’d managed to gel as a team on the field of battle. No one was expecting this though. Not even them.

For a moment it seemed like no one would be phased by this latest turn of events, then Thor boomed, “My friends! It is good we are celebrating our victory this way!”

Bruce, who had de-Hulked before the crush of love, stiffened as if suddenly realizing the position he was in. He tried to pull away, but was in the middle of the group and there was no escape for him.

Natasha’s voice came clearly through the canopy of sound around them. “Whoever has their hand on my ass had better move it before I break it.”

Clint had gone quiet beside her, trying to appear smaller than her already was. And disappear into the group without actually vanishing. He would have wiggled free, except that would draw more attention. He’d never liked being touched and having all of the group around him was grating on his already raw nerves.

Steve, just happy to have the only people he felt comfortable with in this strange world around him, didn’t let go. He would if someone actually started fighting, but for now, he basked in the feeling of family that the group entanglement brought him.

Tony yanked his hand back as Natasha’s threats got more dire and tried to figure out how he’d gotten into this position. He certainly wasn’t one for the ‘kumbaya we all love our fellow man’, but he had to admit…the Avengers were a group he was glad to fight beside.

Maybe this working as a team wasn’t such a bad thing.
