I'll see if anyone plays this time...seems like every time I do this...no one plays. It would be nice to get some this time...

Pick a character and I will give and explain the top three ideas/concepts/etc I keep in mind while writing that character that I believe are essential to accurately depicting them. Any and all characters welcome (including ones I haven't written but might know about...)
Please stick to fandoms I write in.
If you’d like to give me someone not posted here, I’m happy to write some more…but I don’t know when I’ll get to them. These quite obviously took me a while…since the original post was back in January.
Colby Granger
Duty. Country. Honor. No matter what these are the guiding forces in Colby’s life. He was raised to believe these things, to live by these guidelines. Five generations of service wasn’t just lip service…it was what they lived. He agreed to take down Dwayne not because he wanted to take his friend out but because what Dwayne did was wrong in the eyes of what he was raised to believe. And no matter what, Colby could not let that stand…it might go against the bonds of friendship, but duty came first.
At heart Colby is still a small town boy. He might have been out in the big, bad world for years, but he’s still the same small town boy who was raised knowing each and every person in his life. In some ways he misses that. In some ways he’s very glad for the anonymous aspect of LA.
Colby is a big brother. This is a defining part of him. Somewhere along the way I decided that if I was going to add an OC to my Numb3rs fandom, Colby needed a sibling and it needed to be a little sister that he helped raise. Even if no one knew about her; that other person was someone Colby lived for, cared for, knew about and because of her—he would never give up. She was part of the reason he made the decisions he did and the steps he took. She was the family, the children, he might never have.
HENRY FOSS
He’s a geek. He’s a tech-head. He has what I have termed “tech-gasms”. Tech is what turns him on and gets him going. This is both really hot and slightly disturbing depending on what he’s doing and who he’s talking to. So far he’s been able to back up his mouth with his ability; even if it doesn’t always work the first time. He loves it when they discover new tech in their travels and he can take it apart and find out what makes it tick. And hopefully not what makes it boom.
He’s sheltered. Despite everything he’s sheltered. He might be going out on missions now and working outside the Sanctuary, but he’s still in a way that sheltered kid who’s “monster” got the best of him just a few short seasons ago. To him the Sanctuary is both safety and prison and he’s just now figuring out how to get outside those bars.
He’s beta. Henry is a werewolf (despite the use of the term HAP) and despite being raised without a “pack” by normal conventional thought, his instincts and his upbringing make him into a certain type of man. He’s not an alpha because Magnus (and to a lesser extent Ashley)—the two main influences in his life—are very forceful personalities. He is capable of standing up for himself, but prefers to stay in the background and be tech support. Because of this capability of stepping up when he needs to, he does have alpha qualities, which is what makes him a beta and not a delta if he was in a pack.
Regular Steve
The first thing I always think of with Steve is “duty, honor, country”. Because so much of him is tied into his time in the Navy and his drive to serve. He might be serving in a different way now, but he is still serving his country.
The only easy day was yesterday. The SEAL motto even more than it being something he most likely lives by, defines Steve, especially as he learns more about his past. He is so tied to his past that he’s almost unable to let his present become his future.
Boom. This is a man who lives for explosions and Steve the Science Guy loves to blow things up anyway he can. He delights in the fire and the lights and the bigger the fire, the more excited he is. And he’s so much fun to write that way.
Sari Tsu-Lu
I’m not writing this verse anymore, but I’m hoping to use Sari when I start writing it as an original story. I’m also considering posting the unfinished Fic of Doom as is, just because I have like 50 pages and y’all might as well read it. I need to re-read it myself first though. That’s the only reason I didn’t ask you to pick someone else.
Mama Bear—Sari is protective, she will protect Chris and Steve at all costs, even if she gets hurt in the process. And woe to the person who attempts to hurt them because she might look little and sweet and innocent but she is a vicious and blood thirsty girl when crossed. She’s not that far removed from her Native ancestors.
Sublimated—Sari has pushed what she wants aside in favor of what Chris wants. She wants him to be happy and she’ll do whatever it takes to get this for him. She would have been perfectly fine staying in Oklahoma and raising kids and living on a farm, but Chris wanted to sing and see the world and so she went right along with him. Then again, if they hadn’t left—they never would have met Steve.
Picket fence—Sari wants that white picket fence and 2.5 kids and everything that comes with it. The problem is, she’s always wanted it with Chris. And he’s never seemed that interested.
All the lying, all the leaving out of what Chris needs to know that Sari did, she did it not to hurt him but because she really did think that in the long run it would be better for him…she just kinda went about it the wrong way. And she really is stronger than him emotionally, she has to be or she wouldn’t have been able to control him for so many years.
Eliot
He’s a bad man. And I don’t mean that in the joking “You know about a hundred strippers” way. I mean in the this is a man who was at one time taken down to the elements of a man and rebuilt as one bad ass mother fucker. As much as he would like to act and not admit it…Eliot has done things even he does not want to admit to. He has killed; he has walked into a room with only one thing on his mind—that he is going to be the only one walking out alive. This is a man who took all the things the US Army taught him and then learned more. He can kill with any weapon he is handed and some things that you would not expect to be a weapon. And do it all with a disarming smile.
He is a gentleman. Southern charm is bred deep in him. Women and children first is not just a saying and he will break the fingers of any man who dares to hurt one. He might say he’s going to kill Parker or Sophie, but it would take him dying for him to actually hurt them. Doesn’t mean he’s not going to threaten them though.
Krav Maga. Which might seem like a weird thing to keep in mind, but it’s the most brutal form of martial arts I know of and that’s the way Eliot fights—quick, fast, brutal and with the aim to put his opponent down as quickly and surely as possible so he can walk away.
Shifter!Steve
Tied to his past. Despite everything, Steve is tied to his past and who he is to the Islands. Even though he left for many years—sent away because of the issues with his mother’s death and pack issues because of that—he knew that one day he would return. He knew that someday his father would be gone and he would need to step into his place as Protector to Oahu. He was raised with that knowledge and he never shied away from his birthright. Every choice he made, took him closer to that day.
Hoa hana. Steve never thought he would find his mate. After spending so many years alone and meeting so many people in so many different walks of life, he never thought he’d come face to face with the person he’d love above all others. The person he’d lay down his life for without a second thought. He certainly didn’t think it would be a brash, loud-mouthed Jersey cop that he met in his father’s garage. But he wouldn’t change it for anything.
Ohana. He was sent away because his blood family was feuding with a pack from another island. When he returned his entire family was dead or gone and he slowly began to build a new family. A family not of blood, but of heart. It’s the family that he and his mate chose and the one they love and need. He will protect this family either on two feet or four; even if it takes him a while to admit he needs them.
