Since I'm writing crossovers and they're for small fandoms, I thought it might help if I wrote up primers for the three of them. This way even if you don't know one of the shows, you can still read them by getting a quick rundown on the show and the characters. I'll add characters if I decide they're going to show up in the stories or add more information to the show information.

Sanctuary
Quick Summary of Show
Not everything is as it seems. There are things that go bump in the night and there are people that work in the shadows to protect both humans and Abnormals from each other. Across the world, sanctuaries are set up to give the Abnormals—the creatures—that aren’t termed normal a safe place to go if they need help. If they are dangerous or might harm themselves or others, the employees of the Sanctuary capture or in certain instances kill them.

From Wikipedia:
The show centers on Dr. Helen Magnus, a 158-year-old English scientist, and her team of experts who run the Sanctuary, an organization that seeks out extraordinarily-powered creatures and people, known as Abnormals, and tries to help and learn from them, while also having to contain the more dangerous ones.

Characters

Henry Foss
The head of tech and weapons for the Sanctuary, Henry is also a HAP or hyper accelerated protean class 9. A more common term is a werewolf, but Henry prefers not to use that term. He’s a geek and a computer hacker/scientist and his job in the Sanctuary includes keeping the weapons and security systems running. He’s also a self-proclaimed comic book geek. Henry is an orphan, a foundling discovered and raised by Magnus. He has no idea who his parents are.

Will Zimmerman
More accurately Dr. William Zimmerman and a trained psychologist and forensic psychologist/pathologist. Before joining the Sanctuary team, he worked as a police profiler and still has some contacts in the police department (although he’s been slowly burning them). He was raised in foster care after his mother was killed by an Abnormal (although he didn’t know that at the time), Will always knew there was something out there, but not what. As an adult, he couldn’t help but poke at things he shouldn’t and with the FBI and then the police, he got a reputation as someone who couldn’t toe the line. He was approached by Magnus to come work at her Sanctuary and finally agreed to her proposal—wanting to help people. He’s now the second in command and considered to be Magnus’s protégé.

Helen Magnus
Dr. Helen Magnus is not only the Head of House for the Old City Sanctuary, but also the Head of the Sanctuary Network. In addition, she is 160 years old and has seen a wide variety of things over the years. She is an English medical doctor and researcher who studied at Oxford before it was fashionable for women to do so. It is not immediately obvious why or how she is what she is, but Magnus is a formidable woman who is not easily crossed.

Kate Freelander
A former con artist and procurer, Kate recently joined the Sanctuary team. Raised partially on the streets of Chicago, Kate has a thick skin that is just beginning to split and show signs of trust. At first she seemed to be a complete loner, but now she has formed bonds with the Sanctuary crew and let them in so they know about her brother and some of her past. She’s shown that she can be trusted, giving up a sure payday to assist when the team has been threatened and using her contacts to help them. Still she’s shown her mercenary ways are not too far below the surface.

Declan Macrae
Former British Special Forces and current acting Head of House for the London Sanctuary, Declan exudes British calm. He was James Watson’s protégé (in that he was groomed to take over the London Sanctuary) and is obviously trusted by Magnus. He has worked, often using his position, to keep Magnus in her position of power. He’s also manipulated things a couple of times to put himself in power so that he could turn control back over to Magnus. Will has not always trusted him, but he’s always shown himself to be loyal to Magnus. He’s also proven almost completely unflappable as even the most stressful situations leave him rolling with the punches.

Cecilia “Cee” Macleod-Foss (OC)
A shifter by nature, Cee was raised in the cult-like clan of the Scottish shifters. She escaped when she became pregnant by Henry Foss which was more accident than design. She didn’t realize she could actually become pregnant by a man who wasn’t also a shifter. Her personality is slightly warped because she was abused and beaten into thinking she cannot think for herself; trained always to bow to the whims of whomever she saw as Alpha. She is very good at posturing when in public and can seem “normal” when faced with straights or people who are not a part of her world. As a shifter, she has multiple animal shapes but must first physically see the animal in order to take the shape and abilities. Henry keeps a file of her most common ones so she can show him which one she might take when working with the Sanctuary group.

Hawaii Five-O
Quick Summary of Show
A reboot of the ‘70s series of the same name, the series follows the elite task force formed by the governor of Hawaii to take down high end criminals. Granted immunity by the governor, the task force works with no rules and no regulations to make sure the islands are safe for the people and tourists.

From Wikipedia:
The series covers the actions of a small special state police unit created by the governor of Hawaii to investigate serious crimes on the islands. The team is headed by Steve McGarrett as it investigates crimes ranging from terrorism to kidnapping. McGarrett is assigned a partner, Detective Danny Williams, who has recently transferred from New Jersey. He fills out the team by selecting a friend from high school, Chin Ho Kelly, and Chin's cousin, a rookie cop nicknamed Kono.

Characters
Steve McGarrett
Returning to the Island for his father’s murder, Steve is talked into taking the task force. A former Naval Intelligence officer and Navy SEAL, Steve has no experience as a police officer but a no holds barred approach to getting the job done. He often jumps into situations without thinking and often uses his contacts to get the job done.

Danny Williams
A transplanted mainlander, Danny is a former New Jersey cop who worked for the Hawaiian Police Department until he was assigned to John McGarrett’s murder case. He pulled his gun on the wrong man one day and found himself shanghaied into being Steve’s partner. Despite threatening on more than one occasion to transfer back (and yelling at Steve on a daily basis), Danny hasn’t left the task force. In addition to the feeling of family that he’s gotten from the task force, Danny has a young daughter that is his reason for living (and why he moved to the islands in the first place).

Chin Ho Kelly
An HPD officer, who was moved to the rubber gun squad after being accused of corruption, Chin was trained by Steve’s father. Steve told Chin that he never believed Chin took the money and asked the man to join the task force, requesting his assistance in filling out the roster and explaining that he needed the older man’s expertise and experience with the islands and police work if he was going to do this.

Kono Kalakaua
Chin’s younger cousin, Kono is a former pro-surfer who blew out her knee in a surfing accident and decided to become a cop like her idol and older cousin. She never believed he stole the money and was one of the few people who stood beside him during the upheaval. She’s learning as they go, tempering her academy training with Steve’s rough and tumble attitude. And a killer roundhouse.

The Losers
Quick Summary of Movie/Comics
Members of an elite American Special Forces unit, the Losers are generally assumed to be called ‘losers’ because they have screwed up somehow to end up on this team. Neither the comics nor the movie have any background on how they end up as a team, but these are not completely nice men. They are bad asses, trained by the military and used by the CIA to do not nice things. They are also not completely sane. They do subscribe to the military command structure to a certain extent and follow commands within a certain amount of guidelines. They are very, very good at what they do.

Characters
Franklin Clay
The colonel and leader of the team, he’s meticulous and a career military man at the time of the story. He comes from a family of military men.

William Roque
The 2IC or second of command and a bit of a loose canon. He’s got a love affair with knives, the bigger the better. And is a crazy motherfucker. He’s also scary as hell and not quite sane.

Linwood “Pooch” Porteous
The driver for the team, married to Jolene. In the comics he has two daughters. At the end of the movie, Jolene gives birth to a son (neither of these is applicable in my crossover). He’s probably the sanest of the group. If it’s drivable, flyable, or can move…he can make it go. And sometimes even if it can’t.

Carlos “Cougar” Alverez
The team’s sniper, he provides cover for the group. He rarely talks and takes cover under a cowboy hat that while not regulation is his trademark. He is of Mexican descent, having been born and raised there, but came to the US as a teenager. He is quiet, rarely speaking and the whole team listens when he has something to say. His best friends on the team are Jensen and Pooch.

Jake Jensen
The team’s hacker and a non-stop talker. He’s a self-proclaimed geek and can hack anything anywhere at anytime. He has a sister and a niece at home and is a strong supporter of his niece’s soccer team. He is often under-estimated militarily wise (people forget that he is special forces trained) and that leads to him getting the drop on people at times (of course he’s also the one who leaves his gun in the van at in opportune moments too).
