Author's Note: So. This is not quite finished, although the way things are going, it’s going to be finished pretty soon (and hopefully I didn’t just jinx myself), but I thought since you enjoyed the bit of wee! Will and wee!Clint, that I would begin posting the story. I’m going to break this up into chapters; probably through my breaks already in place. This takes place after both the Avenger and MI4 movies so there are spoilers for both through-out the story.

Will held his hand out to Natasha to help her off the gangplank when they reached Liberty Island. Ethan pointed at him. “Clint,” he said decisively.

“Are you sure?” Will asked as he turned to help Jane down.

Ethan’s eyes narrowed as he stared at the younger man. “I…think so.”

“Are you really sure? I mean you’re basing your reputation on this,” Clint pointed out.

Jane patted Ethan on the cheek as she passed him. “Why don’t you wait until you’re positive?”

“I don’t understand how you can tell them apart and I can’t,” Ethan complained.

“It’s really not that difficult,” Darcy explained, linking arms with the cousins. “I just look at them and can do it.” She looked over her shoulder at Jane. “It kinda brings into question your training methods.”

“Oh, I’m sure he could do it,” Clint commented.

“He’s just being deliberately obtuse,” Will added. “I mean we walk differently. Hold our bodies differently.”

“Hell we talk differently. And Mr. Super-Spy can’t tell us apart?” Clint finished.

“Okay, now that is just creepy,” Darcy said, looking from one to the other. “Are you sure you aren’t twins?”

“No, just plenty of practice, Darce,” Will responded. “So. Are we climbing to the top of the pedestal?”

Jane tilted her head back, looking up at the copper lady in front of them. “Well, we did come all the way out here. Wasn’t that the point?”

“And we did pay for the pedestal,” Natasha reminded him. “So. Shall we?”

Clint reached out, drawing Natasha in towards him. “It should be fun.”

The stairs were surprisingly empty, allowing the group to take their time climbing them. Natasha glared at Clint when he eyed the railings as if he was going to use them to clamber up to the top of the pedestal. “Don’t even think about it.”

“Too late,” Will chirruped. “He’s already contemplating how long it’ll take him.”

“If he doesn’t get caught…” Darcy started. “It would be…”

“Nyet!” Natasha snapped. “Do not encourage him!”

The others laughed at Natasha’s face as Clint danced out of her reach, skipping up the next few steps. Ethan’s eyes narrowed as he followed the interaction, but he didn’t say anything, choosing to offer his hand to Jane to help her around the corner.

Will and Clint grinned at each other, angling their heads together as they whispered to the other. Jane looked at them suspiciously, but allowed them their privacy. They couldn’t get into too much trouble on an island, right?

Clint eyed the leading edge of the statue, what he could see of it; as the rest of the group looked out across the bay towards Manhattan. Darcy was pointing out places that had been repaired since the Attack of Manhattan and the different buildings that were recognizable from the distance. Will leaned towards him when he saw where Clint was looking. “I think they might shoot you if you do it,” he said in a low voice.

“It might be worth it,” Clint replied.

“I think you might actually be more insane than Ethan. And he free climbed the Burj Khalifa the first time we worked together.”

Clint’s gray eyes glittered in response. “Really?” He raised his voice, “Hey, Ethan? You like climbing shit?”

Ethan turned around to face the cousins, looking from one to the other. “Yeeees,” he said slowly. “But I don’t see any mountains around here. And I don’t think Stark would appreciate me using his building.”

“Nah. He tends to get cranky about that.” Clint waved his hand towards the statue. “I was talking about that.”

“You think you can climb that?” Ethan asked, strolling closer to where the cousins were now leaning against the wall and staring up at the statue. “And you have to be Clint.”

“Why do you say that?” Clint questioned, a slow grin spreading across his lips.

“Because Will would never contemplate climbing anything without about fifty safety measures. If he even thought about it then,” Ethan answered.

“You don’t know what I do in my spare time,” Will replied. “For all you know I climb things all the time.”

Ethan snorted in response. “That’s why you were so eager to climb the Burj Khalifa with me.”

“Well that was just suicidal and insane,” Will answered. “Untested tech and a hundred and thirty story drop? What were you thinking?”

Clint started laughing. “Dude, cuz, I almost believed you, but you oversold. Give it up, he figured it out. Finally.” He pointed at the statue. “So race you?”

Ethan rolled his shoulders. “Sure. Anything you can do, I can do at least as well, if not better.”

Clint dug his gloves out of his pockets, tugging them on before gripping the edge of stone closest to him and pulling himself up. It took him a moment to get traction, but by the time Ethan was beside him; he’d gotten moving. He reached the bottom of the base and glanced over, grinning at Ethan. “Gotcha,” he said, before stepping backwards. Tucking his body in, he launched himself off the base and flipped.

There were gasps from the crowd as he flew through the air, but he had confidence in his body and he knew he’d hit the angle correctly. Twisting slightly, he rolled into the back flip, landing lightly beside Will. His cousin shook his head in response. “Show-off.”

“Aw, you love me,” Clint replied as he shoved his hands into his pockets and strolled towards where the girls had finally taken note of what they were doing, pursing his lips into a whistle.

Ethan stared after the other man, his hands on his hips, watching as Clint threw his arms around Darcy and Natasha’s shoulders; pressing his lips to Natasha’s cheek.

“Sir. Could you come down from there? Sir. It’s illegal for you to be up there.” Ethan looked down to see two park security staring up at him. “Sir, we don’t want to come up after you.”

Staring down at them, Ethan wasn’t sure at first if they were serious, but they were joined after a minute by three more guards. “Just give me a minute,” he replied. “I need to climb back down.”

Once he’d clambered back down to the pedestal, the first of the guards grabbed him; roughly pulling his arms behind his back. As they were zip-tying his hands together, Darcy rushed up to them, wallet in hand. “Hold up,” she said as she flashed a badge, too fast for Ethan to get a good look at it. “Agent Lewis, Homeland Security. Mr. Block is actually one of my test agents. He was seeing how you respond to a threat on your security. I’d appreciate it if you didn’t actually run him in.”

“You’re supposed to alert us when you’re running a test on security,” the first of the guards replied.

Darcy actually batted her eyes at him. “Now, how much of a test would it be if we actually alerted you every time we ran a test? I think your response time was fabulous. Although having someone prepared to climb up after him if necessary…”

“I well I mean, it’s not something…” the man stuttered.

“Oh, I know. You don’t expect someone to climb the Statue of Liberty,” she answered, resting her hand on his arm. “That’s why we came up with it. I mean really, the unexpected… But you can see your way clear to giving me my man back, right? And I’ll let my superiors and yours know what a fabulous job you boys did.”

“Of course, ma’am,” the man replied, reaching over and cutting Ethan free. “And maybe not mention that we just turned him loose?”

“Absolutely,” Darcy said with a smile.

Ethan looked at her in amazement as they headed back towards the rest of the group. “Did you just flirt me free?” he asked.

“You would be surprised what Natasha taught me a pretty smile does. And the next time Birdy challenges you to climb something? Tell him no. Please.”
