Author's Note: So I started this a few years ago with a friend whom I’ve since lost contact with. If you need to refresh your memory, you can find the last posted chapter here and the entire story from the beginning here. Eventually I’ll edit it and post all of it here. So this is it. It’s all finished. :-) I hope y’all enjoyed it. And eventually I’ll get my other Aiden stories up on AO3.

As the blue glow released them in the SGC, Meredy slowly sank to the ground. “Medic!” nearly all of the military personal yelled in unison.

“Is that normal?” Colby demanded as he reached for her.

“Don’t touch her,” Lorne ordered.

Colby jerked his hands back, staring at Lorne for a minute. “What? Why?”

“Just in case,” Aiden said.

“In case what?” Don asked. He was pushed aside as a medical team led by Doctor Lam moved through.

“Get her up,” Lam ordered. “Get Lorne on a gurney. And make sure she’s secure.”

“Where are you taking my wife?” Colby demanded.

“Your wife?” Lam asked. “Okay, you’re coming with us. Doctor Lorne, I want you checked out too.”

“I’m going with Evan. I’ll have Keller check me out when we get back home,” Aiden replied.

“You can have Keller check you out now,” Lam replied over her shoulder. “And it’s non-negotiable.”

“Why can…?” Megan started.

“Aw, fuck.” Aiden realized what Lam meant. “Why is she here?”

“Is it a bad thing that this Keller is here?” David asked as a second medical team made it to the group, this time led by a lighter haired woman.

“Only as far as Aiden’s concerned,” the woman said.

“Hi, Jennifer.” Aiden waved sheepishly.

“Don’t ‘hi, Jennifer’ me.” The woman patted the gurney next to her. “Up.”

Aiden crossed her arms. “I’m fine. I wasn’t even grazed. There’s no reason for…”

“Hi. I’m the one with the medical degree. And your degrees are in? What was that? Linguistics and archeology?”

“And anthropology,” Aiden muttered.

“Still not medical. Up.” Keller pointed at the gurney.

“I think I know my own body. Even with the…” Aiden waved at her stomach. “Extra rider.”

Lorne glared at her. “Extra rider? Aiden, what happened?”

“Nothing. I’m fine. It’s.” She sighed. “I promise. The boys took good care of me. I’ll explain everything later.”

Keller pointed at the gurney. “Aiden, please don’t argue with me. You know the colonel will feel better if I can tell him I checked you out and besides its procedure.”

“Fine.” Aiden stepped over to the gurney and then realized there was no dignified way she could get onto it. Without commenting, Murray picked her up and set her on it, taking her pack once she was settled. He slung it onto his shoulder and stayed by her side, clearly intending to go with her.

“I suppose I’m not budging you,” Keller commented. “Well, let’s go.” She looked at the teams. “The rest of you, too.”

Colby stood protectively by Meredy’s side as he watched the medical staff check her vitals and follow the procedures that they had in place. He refused to move whenever someone needed to check her on the side he was on, so they just ended up working around him. He desperately wanted to hold his wife’s hand to see if she was okay. He blocked out the world around him and his only focus was Meredy. Colby finally sat down in a chair that someone offered him, but he still hated waiting.

It seemed like days later when a man in a brown tunic approached him. “Mr. Granger? My name is Jacob Carter. I’m a retired Air Force officer. I’m here to help your wife.”

“How can you help my wife?” Colby asked.

Jacob bowed his head. When he raised it again, a strange dual-toned voice issued instead of his. “It is actually myself who can assist your wife, Colby Granger. My name is Selmak. We should soon have your wife back.”

Another bow of the head and Jacob was back, adding, “But there are some possible complications.”

Colby gripped Meredy’s hand tightly. The doctor had put her into a medical coma, deciding it had been the best choice at this time. “What do I need to do?”

“I was hoping you would say that, son.”

As soon as the SG and FBI teams hit the doors of medical, they were split up. The two members of the FBI team that hadn’t followed Meredy were directed to follow Doctor Kayhill. Jennifer Keller had her team roll Aiden’s gurney into an empty bay before pointing to the adjoining beds. “Sit. Jackets and vests off,” she ordered.

The secondary team easily moved off, joining Doctor Abi in the back of Medical as Lorne’s team began shucking vests and jackets. Since they hadn’t been in any place where they risked contamination, they didn’t need to go through any sort of a decon process. Still all of them needed to be examined, even if they insisted they were fine.

Evan dropped his jacket in the chair next to Aiden’s gurney before settling down on the end of it, wincing as he did so. “Want to explain what you meant by ‘extra rider’?” he asked. “Did you pick up a Tok’ra somewhere?”

“No.” Aiden shifted on the gurney, her hands flailing around. “It’s not a Tok’ra.”

“Then what is your extra…” Lorne’s blue eyes drifted down to where her hands rested on her stomach. “Oh. You’re…” His eyes widened. “And you came after me?!”

“Don’t start with me. I already have three overprotective Marines.” She glared at him. “I’m fine.”

“It’s dangerous enough for you without the complications of the pregnancy,” Evan insisted.

“I’m pregnant. I’m not sick. Or injured. Or at all incapable of doing my job. And that includes getting your arse away from the Goa’uld,” Aiden argued.

Evan opened his mouth to continue the argument as Keller joined them. “Okay, don’t aggravate her any more, Colonel,” she told him. “I understand that you’re upset, but let’s make sure everything’s all right and then you can yell at her.”

Keller pushed gently at Aiden’s shoulder, even as the smaller doctor protested. “Aid, just let Jennifer take a look at you,” Evan told her. “Make sure you’re all right.”

“I’m fine,” Aiden insisted, even as she gracelessly gave in to the pressure.

“And it will make me feel better if you let Jennifer examine you,” Evan continued.

“You don’t play fair,” Aiden complained as Keller raised her shirt enough to bare her abdomen.

“Nope,” Evan admitted cheerfully. He held his arm out to the nurse that approached, submitting to the blood draw. As Keller ran a wand over Aiden’s midsection, the nurse did the preliminary exam on him.

It didn’t take long for her to finish with his vitals and tap him on the shoulder. “You need to be scanned, sir.”

“Can it wait until Doctor Keller is done with Aiden?” Evan asked.

“It’s procedure, sir,” the nurse answered. “It needs to be done.”

Aiden turned her head towards him, away from where she’d been watching Keller work with interest. “Go on, Ev. The boys are right here. They aren’t going to leave me. And since none of them were captured, they don’t need to be scanned.”

“Okay if I kiss my wife?” Evan questioned.

Aiden pushed him away. “Go. Kiss me when you get back.”

Evan squeezed her hand before allowing the nurse to lead him away. As soon as he left the seat, Wall dropped into it, rolling down his shirtsleeve from where he’d had his own blood drawn. Murray took up position by their side. All three of them jerked as a loud, rapid thumping filled the air. “What’s that?” Wall demanded.

Keller smiled as she moved the wand slightly. “That. Is the heartbeat for the baby. And it sounds healthy.”

Aiden frowned. “It’s supposed to be that fast? Seems like that would be dangerous.”

“Nope. Seems perfectly healthy.” Keller smiled at her. “Want to see?” She turned the monitor so Aiden could see it.

“Where’s Evan?” Aiden asked as she peered at the screen.

“Right here, amour,” Evan answered as he motioned for the two Marines to move out of his way.

Aiden pointed at the screen. “Look.”

“I see.” Evan leaned over, kissing the top of her head. “I see.” He squeezed her hand tightly as he stared at the screen.

Meredy struggled into a sitting position as another nurse approached her bed. “Haven’t you taken enough blood?” she questioned.

“Not blood this time,” the nurse assured her. She brandished a needle before ejecting it into the port into Meredy’s IV. “Do you feel up to some visitors?” she asked once she was done.

The FBI agent’s eyes lit up. “Yes. Please.” Her gaze shifted towards the beds where Colby and Don were sprawled out as much as they were able. “Should I wake them up?”

“Let them sleep for now,” Evan said as he guided Aiden to a seat by the bed. “We just wanted to check on you.”

“How are you feeling?” Aiden asked. She slapped Evan’s hands away as he tried to fuss over her. “We are going to have serious issues if you keep doing that,” she informed him. She turned her attention back to Meredy. “Are you feeling better?”

“I… guess so,” Meredy said. “I’m not quite sure how I’m supposed to feel. That… thing is out of me. Or so the doctors said, but I feel…”

“Creepy? Weird? Not quite the same?” Evan suggested. When Meredy nodded, he said, “We’ve got people you can talk to about that. Make sure you’re doing all right before we send you back to LA.”

Meredy’s eyes widened. “Owein!” she exclaimed.

“He’s fine,” Evan assured her. “Your dad has him. And Charlie is here. Once they got us off Ba’al’s ship, Stone sent him down. I think he was glad to get off the ship, as fascinated as he apparently was.”

“I don’t blame him,” Aiden muttered. “Ellis is better than Stone.” She smiled at Meredy. “He’s having a nice conversation with a couple of the mathematicians here. He’s fine. As are Megan and David. Our boys are keeping them well entertained.”

“Am I going to get to go home soon?” Meredy asked.

“Probably not as soon as you’d like,” Evan admitted. “They need to make sure you’re all right. And you’ve got a new marker in your blood. I don’t understand the whole thing, but everyone who’s hosted a Tok’ra or a Goa’uld has a naquadah marker afterwards.” He smiled reassuringly at her look. “It won’t affect you in your day to day life. And we’ll make sure the records of your… possession are locked away.”

“So what actually happened to…?” Meredy asked.

“The Goa’uld?” Aiden questioned.

When Meredy nodded, Evan explained, “We have allies called the Tok’ra. Simply they’re good Goa’uld. They took her.”

“So she’s gone?” Colby asked from his bed. “Won’t bother us again?”

Aiden shifted so she could see him and Don, who’d also woken up while they were talking. “She’s gone. Should not bother you again.”

“So what happens now?” Don asked. “Do we get to go home?”

“Soon,” Evan said. “You won’t be able to tell anyone the real story, but we’ll give you a cover story…” He frowned as Aiden and Colby started laughing. “You two are not helping.”

“Cover story?” Aiden said between giggles. “I hope it’s better than the last one Colby and I got.”

“I don’t even want to know,” Evan decided.

“So we can’t leave, but can I get out of here?” Meredy asked.

Evan got to his feet. “Let me find out.”

As soon as he was out of earshot, Meredy turned her attention to Aiden. “Does he know?”

“Know?” Her eyes widened. “Oh. Yes. He spent about an hour yelling at me yesterday. I think we’re good now.”

Meredy leaned forward, hugging the smaller woman. “I’m so glad. Congratulations.”

“Thanks,” Aiden told her. “We’re headed back home in a couple of days. Just as soon as the Apollo is ready to go.”

“I’ll be sorry to see you go,” Meredy said. “I know I wasn’t the nicest when you first got here…”

“It’s okay,” Aiden assured her. “I imagine I wasn’t the easiest to get along with.”

“But I could have been nicer…” Meredy tried.

“How about you both agree you made mistakes?” Colby suggested.

The two girls laughed, agreeing as Evan came back with Doctor Keller in tow. “I hear you want to be sprung,” she said.

“It would be nice,” Meredy said.

“Let’s take a look,” Keller told her. The doctor leaned over the FBI agent to begin her check.

Within minutes, Meredy was cleared and the group was dismissed to be escorted to quarters on the base. They made plans to meet up for a meal later as they separated at the guest quarters.

“Did you and Meredy make up?” Evan asked as Aiden settled into a seat in their room.

“We’re fine,” Aiden answered. “I want to make sure to see Daniel before we leave, all right?”

“That’s fine, amour.” Evan pressed a kiss to the top of her head. “We’ve got a couple of days before we leave.”

“I’ll be glad to get back to Atlantis though,” Aiden continued. “At least the Wraith just try to suck your soul out. The Goa’uld actually want to take over your mind.”

Evan laughed as he sat down at the desk, intending to finish the report he’d need to file. “Only you, Aiden, only you.”
